How to Cure your toenail and fingernail Fungus quickly and easily.
What is nail fungus? Nail fungus is present in nails all the time, in a healthy nail the presence of small amounts of fungus is not noticable, and will not cause any damage to the nail. Nail fungus eats away at the inside surface of the nail, causing the nails to be brittle and transparent in colour. When the fungus becomes out of control, it moves deeper into the nail, making the nail come away from the skin and causeing the nail to appear discoloured.
Nail fungus can be caused by or made worse by- constact contact with water, moist conditions such as tight shoes, contantly dirty nails such as from gardening, pressure on the nail from too tight shoes, or a trauma to the area such as an injury or insect bite.
Symptoms of nail fungus are easy to spot. The affected nail will be yellow or brown in colour, and/or the nail is not attached and it may become thick and overgrown. If left untreated the fungus may eventually cause the whole nail to fall off.
Your doctor or pharmasist will probably recommend a topical anti-fungal treatment which is painted onto the nails twice or more times per day. These kind of nail fungus treatments range from around $10 up to $100 however the more expensive treatments are not necessary better, in fact you may find that these anti-fungal solutions will not cure your nail fungus problem, but they may keep the fungus from getting worse, or make it slightly better over time. How to cure your toenail or fingernail fungus with hydrogen peroxide.
Buy a bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen Peroxide can be found at any chemist or pharamacy and most supermarkets. Usually this is the lowest percentage of hygrogen peroxide available, if you already have some 6% hydrogen peroxide then you could mix it with half water to make it 3%.
Get a glass bottle with a dropper and fill it with hydrogen peroxide. The dropper is not essential but it makes it a lot easier to get the solution under your finger nails.
Now put a couple of drops under each fingernail, get a toothpick and clean under the nails. You will notice immediately that the hydrogen peroxide makes white bubbles when it comes into contact with any kind of unhealthy material. You will be able to tell how bad the fungus is, by how much the solution bubbles.
You will also notice that they hydrogen peroxide dissolves all the rotten parts of the nail so you can clean it away.
Use a tissue to clean the nail, and then apply the solution again. Healthy nails will only need one or two applications just as a maitance dose, for serious fungus problems give a few cleans, and clean twice or do this 2 or more times a day. As the nail gets healthier you will notice less fizzing, and can cut down on the treatments.
Nail fungus can spread from one nail to another, so treat all your fingernails and toenails once a week, and the affected nail more often.
This treatment is very effective on nails that are slightly discoloured and have just started to come off the nail bed. When using this treatment expect the nail colour to improve immediately and nails to rejoin to the finger within days.
For nails that are very discoloured and have ridges you will probably need to use this treatment for longer to see results.
